Why Jesus Christ Died on the Cross?

Many non believers are curious to know why Jesus had to died on the cross for their sins when other people preach the gospel to them. They don't understand the significance of Jesus Christ dying on the cross for their sins. Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross in order to offer up his life blood as a ransom for our sins.

Mankind are sinners. You may say you are not a sinner but every human being on this earth is a sinner. This is because we are descendants of Adam and Eve. Adam was the first man that God created. God created Eve, the first woman from one of Adam's ribs. Adam and Eve sinned by eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. They disobeyed God's commandment because God had told them earlier not to eat from the trees in the middle of the Garden of Eden. Disobedience is a sin no mater if the consequence of the disobedience is good or bad.

Many people ask why can't God just forgive our sins so that everyone can go to heaven. In this way, Jesus Christ will not have to take the hassle to come to earth and die for our sins on the cross.

In the Old Testament times, blood of sin offerings are used to make atonement for the sins of the high priest and Israelites (Hebrews 9:7-10). The high priest made atonement for himself and Israelites on the Day of Atonement once every year. God requires everything to be cleansed by blood. There will be no forgiveness if there is no blood shedding (Hebrews 9:22).

Therefore, Jesus Christ made the decision to reincarnate into human being through the virgin Mary with the purpose to die for our sins on the cross. Jesus Christ faced temptations like us, while he was on earth but he never sin. The blood that flowed from his wounds when he was crucified on the cross become ransom for sinners and cleanse our transgressions. He offered himself as a pure and blameless sacrifice on the cross. Jesus Christ loved us so much that he was willing to forsake the luxury in heaven and come down to earth to die for our sins.

Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ can be saved regardless of ethnicity, country and etc (Romans 10:9-13). After you are baptized and become a Christian, it does not mean that your sins will be automatically forgiven. The blood of Jesus is only useful when you sincerely confess your sins and repent. Everyday, you must examine yourself to see if you have sin against God in any area in your life. Christians must abide in God's commandments and spend time to develop a close relationship with God in order to inherit eternal life.

Singing Instruction - Singing Problems and the Bobbing "Adam's Apple"

The "Adam's apple" is actually a little box which contains and protects the vocal cords, called the larynx. Girls' are smaller than guys', and don't protrude as much. Thus the name Adam's apple rather than Eve's apple.

Most people don't know that the primary purpose of the vocal cords is to block off the opening to the lungs when we swallow, so we don't choke.

Put a finger on your Adam's apple and swallow. You'll feel the larynx rise to the top of your throat. The reason for this is that it serves as a kind of cork, stopping up the opening to the lungs (the esophagus). As this happens, the opening inside of the larynx also closes so nothing can get through. This little doorway inside of the larynx is opened and shut by the vocal cords, working like the inside folds of a set of curtains which pull the curtains shut.

So, the primary purpose of the vocal cords is not to make sounds, but to keep us alive by not letting food or liquid go into the lungs. Speaking and singing are secondary purposes.

This action by the larynx is vital to our existence, but is detrimental to our singing.

You see, as the larynx rises it reduces the area of the throat between the vocal cords and the head, When the throat becomes shorter the sound becomes smaller and more pinched. Quality is lost, high range is reduced and stress occurs.

The thing is, we can't swallow and sing at the same time, so there is no reason for the larynx to be high while we are singing. Good singer's must actually train it to stay low since it reflexively wants to rise when we sing.

There are excellent exercises available from private teachers or from recorded singing courses, but a good way to start your "larynx training program" i to be aware that this is probably happening, and to "think" it lower when you are singing. As you practice singing with the feeling of a low larynx it will learn and begin to stay low without your constant supervision.

This will make amazing differences in your vocal quality, range, singing dexterity and stamina.

Adam and Eve - Meaning Behind the Story

The story of Adam and Eve is a METAPHOR about childhood. Every child is born innocent - just like Adam and Eve. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' because they are both 'abstractions'. They don't exist in the real world - they are concepts. Different societies and cultures have different standards about what is right or wrong.

Anyway God also gave Adam and Eve a standard to live up to. He told them it was 'wrong' to eat from the one tree. All else was fine. This tree was called the Tree of what? The KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and BAD. I am paraphrasing slightly as it is called 'evil' - but evil does mean 'bad' (i.e. the opposite of good).

First thing to understand is that GOOD cannot exist in isolation from BAD. They come as a pair - it is DUALITY. Everything has an opposite. GOOD cannot exist and is meaningless if there is no BAD. The tree is called the KNOWLEDGE of good and bad. So this means that Adam and Eve did not KNOW what is good or bad. Just as every child does not know. Hence every child is innocent. Adam and Even were innocent.

We are all innocent as long as there is no good or bad. The tree is the knowledge of good and bad. The moment you BUY INTO the concept of good and bad - your innocence is gone. This is called the fall of Adam and Eve into sin. There is no sin - but as soon as they ate of the tree (bought into the idea that good and bad exist) they were trapped into duality. Every child lives in innocence until we condition him or her into beliefs about what ir good and bad and right and wrong. Once this conditioning takes place - the child is no longer free. The child is not trying to do the 'right' thing and to be a 'good' person. This approval seeking continues throughout life. It gets transferred from parents to school teachers and then to our life partners and to society.

Enlightenment means to come out of this duality and to realise that you cannot do any 'wrong' because in the real nature of things - it does not exist. In order for 'good' to exist - you need a point of view - some involvement. For example in a war - when one country is winning - it is only good if you are a supporter of that country. If you are not involved - the event is neutral. All events by their nature are neutral. It is only when you want a certain outcome that 'good' and 'bad' arise. If a police officer catches someone speeding - it is 'good' in the officer's point of view. It is 'bad' in the view of the person who is caught. In reality it is neither - it is simply an event. A person is speeding and an officer catches them speeding. It is neither good nor bad. Enlightenment is the return to innocence - the absence of judgment of good and bad. Beyond duality.

Every society creates it's own rules and laws in order to function. After a while we begin to get conditioned by those laws as if they are absolutes. In fact they are not absolute. One example is immigration laws. The acts carried out for immigration purposes are often inhumane - but nobody questions that. A person may be in prison for many years even though his only 'crime' was to create a better life for himself. Yet a 'civilised' society will overlook this because it will find a reason (he committed an immigration crime).

I go into more details in my book "Maybe Your Life is Perfect and You Just Don't Know it!" (see the OshoRobbins Website)

What Fruit Did Adam Eat?

What Fruit Did Adam Eat?

What Fruit Did Adam Eat?

What fruit did Adam eat? Adam ate of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Christian tradition states that this fruit was an apple. Islam and Jewish tradition claims this fruit was a fig which was much more common in the Mideast than an apple. Apples were almost non-existent. By eating this fruit, Adam disobeyed God and was cast with his wife Eve from the Paradise called Eden.

Adam knew eating this fruit was wrong, so why did he do it? He had knowledge delivered to him by God stating that the consequences of eating of this fruit would be bad. Yet, Adam listened to his wife Eve, who had been beguiled by the serpent, and both Adam and Eve ate the fruit.

Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This action brought evil and sin into the world. If Adam "ate" of the fruit of knowledge, that means he acted upon this knowledge. The Garden of Evil was perfect, a paradise, where everything was good. There was no sin or evil in the Eden. Adam brought sin into the world.

Adam's action brought sin into the picture. Adam now knew the difference between right or wrong and Adam chose to do wrong. Evil may have already existed, but it did not have a permanent foothold in the world of paradise until Adam opened the door and allowed it in. Adam helped evil to manifest into this reality.

Instead of living in harmony with God in idyllic paradise, Adam chose evil and as a result distanced himself from God. Adam chose to take actions that could either be good or bad. Adam chose to be co-creator with God, creating events and objects that could be either right or wrong.

From the very beginning then, mankind has been choosing - we choose by doing - we choose by visualizing a goal or desire and then we take the action that we feel will move us closer to that goal. Both the goal and the process we use to get there can be either good or bad, right or wrong, holy or sinful. Therefore, as Jesus said, not only every thing we do, but every thought we think, moves us closer or farther from the Father.

What fruit did Adam eat? It wasn't a fruit, it was an action and the action was to be co-creator with God of the world.

We Are All Related to Adam and Eve and Each Other, I Can Prove It!

We are all related to Adam and Eve, and each other. With the technology of DNA science and Carbon 14 testing, we now have some of the important life questions answered. Questions like, Is everyone in the world related? How are we related? What path did my ancestry take to get to wherever it is you are now?

First off, Adam and Eve are considered our Most Recent Common Ancestors (MRCA). Everyone is related to them, it is our most recent match. If you don't know how you are related to someone, you can always go back to Adam and Eve. The Adam and Eve talked about here are not the same biblical characters that ate the forbidden fruit. Y chromosomal "Adam" is the name given by Brian Sykes, author of "Seven Daughters of Eve", that indicates this artifact of DNA links us all. A human bone found near Kenya, Africa that dates back about 60,000 years has the same DNA match as every living man. Y chromosomes are passed from father to son only.

Mitochondrial "Eve" is the name Bryan gave to our MRCA on our maternal side. Mitochondria DNA is passed from mother to daughter. Unlike the Y chromosome, both males and females get their mother's mitochondria, though the males do not pass it. Eve is much older than Adam, about 140,000 years old. Her remains were discovered near Kenya, Africa as well.

What this means is that Y chromosomal Adam and Mitochondrial Eve are grandparents to us all. Environment and time mutate are DNA slightly. These mutations help show when and where we migrated. From Africa, most people populated north to Europe while few went west in Africa. Throughout time, these two groups of people's DNA altered with slight mutation. As we populated the world, we mapped out our migration through our DNA.
